SVDP Columbus Thrift Store

The new St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store is our first endeavor into the world of business. We operate this Thrift Store so that we can raise money to help the Society of St. Vincent de Paul continue its work with members of our community who are struggling to get ahead. When a person calls the Society of St. Vincent de Paul for help, we meet with them in person talk with them about what they need. Providing help with utilities, food, and car repair are just a few of the reasons someone  may call us for help. As our founder, Blessed Frédéric Ozanam said, "No work of charity is foreign to the society."

Shopping during the time of COVID-19

We have reopened as of May 12, 2020 and are thankful for your continued support. Here are the guidelines for shopping in our stores during the pandemic:

  • All of our employees are required to wear a face covering to protect you, our customers. We ask that you wear a face covering to protect our employees.
  • We have installed plexiglass dividers at all registers.
  • Please maintain a 6 ft distance from other shoppers and employees throughout the store.
  • We will keep high-touch areas of the store clean throughout the day for your safety.
  • All shopping carts will be cleaned after each use.
  • All items that you bring to the store to donate will be store outside the store for three weeks prior to us processing them and bringing them into the store to sell to our customers. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we have more than enough items to keep our store freshly stocked so you will have new items to purchase. It's just another way for us to do our best to keep you safe.
  • If you feel ill, please stay home and take care of yourself.
  • We will get through this together!

To make sure that we can continue to these works of charity, and to  expand our offerings to include other programs like, Getting Ahead in a Just Gettin' By World and our Microloan Program, all the profits from our store will go to support the work of St. Vincent de Paul. To learn more about the programs you are supporting when you shop at our store, check out our "How You Help" web page. For more details, please check out the St. Vincent de Paul web page at:
